Lussebullar - Swedish Saffron Buns


Swedish saffron buns

Ingredients:

800g-1kg white flour (approx. 6 cups)

120g sugar (approx. ½ cup)

3 tsp dry yeast – dissolved in ¼ cup warm water or 50g fresh yeast

130g salted butter

1-1.5g saffron

400 ml milk (I used full fat Organic milk from Jersey girl)

½ cup natural yoghurt (I used De Winkel's Natural yoghurt)

Pinch of salt (optional)

1 egg, beaten (for brushing)

Sultanas or raisins for garnish
